Congratulations to the winners of the December 2025 Writing Contest!
Thank you to every one of you who submitted their work to the December 2025 Writing Contest. I know this can be a busy time of year, and I appreciate that you took a little time share your writing with me and the Underground Bookshelf readership. The theme was WRITER'S CHOICE.
I was happy to see some submissions from new folks! I'm so happy to see this community continue to grow. Thank you for sharing your work.

Reading your submissions is something I look forward to each month. I encourage you to come back throughout the next month to read one another's work (and maybe even comment on it). Writing is a rewarding, but often lonely craft, and we can learn from and support one another in this and other community spaces.
I'll be featuring certain pieces from this month's contest during the upcoming month, but if you participated through Booksie, Wattpad, or Neobook, you can use the hashtag, #flashfictionfun to find and read one another's work.
