Book Summary:
A geologist by trade, Shayna had agreed to join the scientific colony tasked with terraforming Mars in the hopes of offering a better life to her family who continue to suffer the aftermath of war and famine. She had not foreseen getting left behind when the rest of the colony flees a surprise attack. Nor had she foreseen needing to survive repeated encounters with an unknown Martian species. In order to survive, she must try to understand the creatures she encounters, and she must consider the question: Who is studying who?
About the Author:
Laura Browne-Lambert is a queer, neurodivergent, and chronically ill writer whose writing emphasizes the characters, identities, and experiences she missed out on in her youth. She lives in Boston, MA and enjoys gardening, painting, and finding new science fiction or fantasy stories to enjoy. She is also the creator of the Underground Bookshelf.
