Let's celebrate the winners of the October Writing Contest!

My family and I just returned from some last-minute travel, so I'm a little behind on all-things Underground Bookshelf, but I'm working on catching up. It was so nice to get home to SO MANY contest submissions! Below are the winners and honorable mentions.

September's Top Submissions

  • "The Last Page" by PrincessCourt
  • "What It Left Behind" by Anthony M. Thurgood
  • "The Horrors We Bring" by Anthony Bernardelli

Honorable Mentions

  • "A Halloween of Slugs" by Rachel Treacher
  • "El Ruido" by Juan Comas
  • "Haunt This House" by Miri Morley Ross

Congratulations to the top writers this month and thank you to everyone who submitted work to this contest! If you are one of the winners or honorably mentioned writers listed above (and would like your story or excerpt to be featured on Underground Bookshelf) please get in touch with me to make sure that I have the name you would like to be credited under, your pronouns, and a brief bio.

Writers of all levels and abilities are invited to participate in the monthly contests. The theme for November is POETRY OPEN. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to reading your work in the future!
