Summary
Once Upon a Fairytale is an anthology of original fairytales written by seven authors and edited by S.K. Gregory. The contributors used Story Cubes to determine characters, plot elements, and other items within the stories told. With a dark fantasy bent, these stories resemble the fairytales of old and are just right for readers of Grimm's Fairytales and Hans Christian Anderson.
About Once Upon a Fairytale
Once Upon A Fairytale could quickly become your worst nightmare...
A prince imprisoned in a tower, a stolen child, a young woman determined to walk her own path, a mysterious hunter stalking the forest, a jealous enchantress, two girls torn apart by fate - these are not the fairytales you grew up with.
Venture into a world of original fairytales, where magic causes chaos, villains threaten entire kingdoms and the hero is in for the fight of their life. Will they prevail? Or is their future looking grim?
A collection of original dark fantasy fairytales.

Sarina Langer
Sarina Langer is a dark fantasy author of both epic and urban paranormal novels. Her characters knew she's queer (demi and pan) and has ADHD before she did (and they didn't say *anything* to her!).
She’s as obsessed with books and stationery now as she was as a child, when she drowned her box of colour pencils in water so they wouldn’t die and scribbled her first stories on corridor walls.
(‘A first sign of things to come’, according to her mother. ‘Normal toddler behaviour’, according to Sarina.)
In her free time she usually reads one audiobook, one ebook, and one paperback (one for every occasion), plays video games, and obsesses over mythology.
She has a weakness for books on writing and pretty words. (Specificity, anyone? Or perhaps nebulous?)
Sarina lives with her partner in the south of England.
W.M. Dawson
W.M. Dawson lives in the middle of New Mexico. She avoids the melting heat by writing in a wonderfully air-conditioned house with her husband and a herd of cats that believe they run the place. She writes under her pen name Wendy Cheairs. Wendy has been writing for several anthologies and short fiction and breaking into novels. She often lurks on social media when pondering too many story arcs.

Mara Reboi
I am a non-binary author, and an artist (hiisikoloART), with two current pen names: Mara Reboi for Horror, Fantasy, and What-Ever-I-Fancy, and Pähkinä Kyöpeli for my Poetry, which I mostly publish in Finnish.
My roots stem from Karelia, which I am proud of. Whilst I am Finland born and raised; poetry is what connects me to those who came before me while my stories explore the deep depths of my sleep-overloaded imagination.
I want to write despite many disabilities from
Idiopathic Hypersomnia (a rare, neurological sleep disorder akin to a sleeping curse, but not the "sleeping beauty" type - more like overly exhausted goblin), to ADHD (a source of Great Creativity, yet also massive pain in my ass), chronic migraines, and Long Covid caused chronic pain.
It's not just the wild, full-fledged novels that i see in my dreams and live through like real life memories. Nor is it that I remember them better than anything else my clinically impaired memory stores.
Perhaps I am trying to write my way to a home like reaching through a veil of memories to places I know but have never been to?
Whatever possesses me to write these things, I hope you will join me to the ride and give some of my writing a chance.
