Do you know about the free secondhand bookshelf?

Last year, I expanded Underground Bookshelf to include a traveling secondhand bookshelf. I bring the bookshelf to local community events, and anyone who visits my booth are invited to bring a book or two home with them for free. This is a small way for me to encourage free access to literature in the community. In the last couple years, Underground Bookshelf has attended the Trans Resistance MA Festival, Pride Worcester, the Roxbury Poetry Festival, Disability Pride at the Museum of Science, and Open Streets: Jamaica Plain.

I'd like to thank everyone who has gifted their gently loved books or hard-earned money to this project. Over the past two summers, Underground Bookshelf has given away at least 169 books! Your generosity has helped make this project sustainable and impactful. Thank you so much! And if you happen to see me at an event, come pick up a book. I'm saving one just for you!

*Right now, Underground Bookshelf is physically based in Boston, MA, USA. If you can't make it to an in-person event, please continue to visit this website. New reading material is posted regularly, submitted by authors from all over the world. And, if you're a writer, consider sharing your own work with the Underground Bookshelf community.
