June 2025 Writing Contest Submissions

Published on 27 May 2025 at 21:05

The theme for our June writing contest is LGBTQ+ PRIDE!

Pride in oneself, pride in a friend or family member, pride in standing up for an ideal - June is a time for centering LGBTQ+ Pride, identities, and experiences. Short stories, short memoirs, flash fiction, poems, and first chapters are all welcome! Please let me know if your submission comes with any content warnings. I also ask everyone to refrain from egregious violent or sexual content as I don't put age restrictions on content.

How to Submit:

There are four ways to submit your work.

  • Via Neobook:
    • publish your completed poem on Neobook
    • include the hashtag #flashfictionfun so that other participants can find and read your work
    • direct message the contest moderator (@LauraWrites), (include the contest you are submitting to, the name you would like to be credited under, and your pronouns)

Image Description: The word, "Pride," with a heart next to it is scrawled in the center of a white circle. Around the circle is a rainbow paint splatter.

Winners have the option to have their poem featured on Underground Bookshelf the following month.
